Phi Mu Alpha is the oldest of all the music fraternities. Over 100 years ago, a group of men founded this fraternity on the grounds of sharing their musical talents to all who will enjoy them. They found themselves performing charity concerts throughout Boston in the early 1900s. Today, over 100 years later, the fraternity flourished into a great brotherhood of over 200,00 active and alumni members.
Yesterday, the William Paterson Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha visited Keystone to perform and continue to live in the footsteps of brothers past. Seventeen active brothers came out to perform on piano, sax, trombone, trumpet and with the voice for the Keystone Community. It was a short 45-minute performance but it was indeed well received; especially when the brothers sang to all the ladies with their special, “Serenade to a Girl.”
