Sometimes, you just find a good deal for some good entertainment and that is exactly what had happened on Saturday. This past Saturday a group of our individuals went on another outing to see the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra perform a children’s concert entitled “Athletes of the Orchestra.”
Some of selections of the concert included:
The Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key
Olympic Fanfare by John Williams
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) by W. A. Mozart
Bugler’s Holiday by Leroy Anderson
A Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky
It was also quite the educational experience too! During the concert, each of the “teams” of the orchestra gave a demonstration of what they do. Many times, the narrator and conductor made parallel comments on how sports and music are very similar.
We walked out after the concert with many smiling faces and you can count that they indeed had a great time. We will be looking for more of these concerts in the future.
